Freight Recycling Programme

TerraCycle’s freight programme is a cost effective, bulk method of collecting and recycling your empty plastic malt sacks.

Collect empty plastic malt sacks and load as many as you can onto a pallet. The pallet must be below 2 metres high but there are no weight restrictions. Load the pallet via any method which works best for you – as long as the pallet is safe and secure before its shipped! Our onboarding programme will clarify TerraCycle’s guidelines for correct and safe palletisation. The Freight Recycling Programme provides a great affordable solution to those who have sustainability at the forefront of their agendas, allowing you to recycle large quantities of empty malt sacks effectively.

How to use the Freight Recycling Programme

Step 1: Send us an email to register to participate in the programme and begin your onboarding.

Step 2: Start collecting your empty plastic malt sacks on a pallet. The pallet must comply with ISPM 15 standards (UK standard 100cm x 120cm) – you can reuse your pallet from your malt delivery!

Step 3: Once your pallet(s) is full and ready to ship, contact us. We will send you a transport and delivery questionnaire. You can either arrange your own transport for the pallet to TerraCycle’s Material Recovery Facility or request a pick up from your site by TerraCycle .

Step 4: We will send you a Waste Transfer Note for you to sign prior to collection, a Pallet label and a Packing List to sign and return with the driver on collection of your pallet.
