Since 1870 we’ve lived and breathed malting. With this passion and expertise, and by combining traditional and modern techniques, we create an impressive range of malted and non-malted products, including several unique and exclusive barley malts.
We have a wide range of malts suitable for brewing and distilling to provide you with the foundations for creating your next beer or whisky.
From our traditional floor maltings to our state-of-the-art packaging line, all of our malts are processed by a team of skilled maltsters. Find out more about our different processes here.
Our team of maltsters and brewers have put together a number of different technical materials, from recipes to blog posts on conditioning, to assist you in your brewery or distillery. Find out more here in this section.
There is nothing more we love than talking to brewers and distillers so if you have any questions, or would like to arrange a call with a member of our team, please feel free to get in touch – we would love to hear from you!
With sites across the UK, Germany and Poland we employ people in a wide range of jobs in different sectors of the business. We have teams in production, engineering, laboratory, finance, customer service, sales, transport and IT.
All new staff are enrolled in an induction programme to welcome them to the business and to equip them with the skills required to do the job in hand. We have lots of employees who have worked here for more than 20 years bringing skills and knowledge to their roles.
At Crisp we value our team members for everything they bring to the business. We pride ourselves on our training here at Crisp. With employees who are experts in their areas of work, we ensure their knowledge is shared and passed on. Each department formulates training programmes to equip their team members with the knowledge they need to carry out their roles.
As well as this, we are members of a number of external organizations such as MAGB – the Maltsters’ Association of Great Britain, IBD – the Institute of Brewers & Distillers, and BFBI – Brewing, Food & Beverage Industry Association.
Here’s what some have to say about working at Crisp:-
Luke Bennett, Sales Operations Manager
All my colleagues are super supportive. Everyone mucks in together, there’s no ego. The teams all genuinely get along, even the directors are really approachable and involved. If you’ve ever got an issue everyone’s there for you. It’s a really great place to be a part of.
Rebecca Gee, Assistant Site Manager Gt Ryburgh
‘If there’s anything that I’ve said I wanted to do some training on and get involved in, Crisp Malt has been really helpful and supportive about it. Some of the operators here have been here for 40 years, which is a real testament to how nice it is to work here! It’s a great atmosphere to work in.
Hannah Beer, Technical Development Lead
We want to draw from everyone. More minds on something the better and I love that no suggestion is off the table. It is all taken into consideration and from there I think you can find the best solution to most things.
