We’ve partnered with Terracycle

We are proud to be running two recycling programmes in partnership with TerraCycle: the Zero Waste Box Programme and the Freight Recycling Programme.

The recycling of plastic malt sacks has been an industry-wide challenge for many years, mainly due to the difficulties around the local recycling of polypropylene. We have been working hard to resolve this and are proud to have found a great solution in TerraCycle.

TerraCycle is a global leader in recycling, with over 650 partnerships with major brands and over 40,000 clients worldwide. This innovative company is the first of its kind, tackling the waste crisis we’re experiencing today through its circular economy approach. They are on a mission for ‘Eliminating the Idea of Waste®’ through recycling and reusing materials that would usually end up in landfills and incinerators. TerraCycle develops “ways to collect and recycle rubbish that local Waste Recycling Centres do not generally accept”, like our Crisp Malt sacks. The two programmes ensure the collection and recycling of empty plastic malt sacks, to keep them out of landfills and incinerators, and allows full transparency and traceability of the volumes of waste collected, providing a solution to recycling waste sacks. This programme will support you if you are aiming for ‘Zero Waste’ within your brewery or distillery.
