A Bit About Crisp

We go back a long way – 1870 to be precise – but we are not stuck in our ways. The craft brewing and distilling markets are changing rapidly, and as suppliers to them, we need to be ahead of the curve.

Crisp is part of Anglia Maltings, which also operates EDME Food Ingredients and Micronized Food Products. Crisp has three maltings in East Anglia, two in Scotland, one in Germany and one in Poland.

  • We take barley grains (and, to a lesser extent other cereal grains) through a three-step process – steeping, germinating and kilning to produce malt. We supply malt to craft brewers and distillers all over the world, much of it from our base in Norfolk.
  • We’ve been around for 150 years and want to be around for another 150. That means nurturing the land and working in long-term partnerships with our farmers, brewers and distillers.
