410 Litres of alcohol – per tonne

Scottish Heavy 50 Peated Pot Still Malt is a specialist distillers’ malt designed for producing richly peated whiskey and malt spirits.

Utilising peat from Aberdeenshire and the same spring barley as our Premium Pot Still Malt, we slowly peat our malt to give fullest absorption of phenols by each grain. This results in a depth of flavor that will not fade in storage and will provide that hallmark peat character in your whisky.

Our heavy peated malt is measured at upwards of 50 ppm of total phenol.

Malted specifically for pot still distillation, it delivers pronounced peat smoke layered with warming malt sweetness, contributing depth, intensity and character to the final spirit.

Key Characteristics

  • Designed specifically for pot still whiskey distillation
  • Rich malt backbone supporting smoky spirit character
  • Delivers depth and warmth without harshness
  • Consistent peating levels for repeatable spirit profiles
  • Suitable for malt whiskey and specialty distilled spirits
