We’re proud to share our latest Sustainability Review 2025 video, showcasing the meaningful progress we’ve made over the past year as we continue working towards a more sustainable future. As a British maltster with roots in Norfolk going back to 1870, sustainability isn’t a new idea for us, it’s woven into how we farm, malt and work with our partners. This video brings together the dedicated efforts of our teams, partners, and growers, highlighting the positive changes happening across every part of our business, spanning supply chain, production and wider industry partnerships.
A key focus of the review is our Field Forward initiative, which is helping to drive more sustainable farming practices and strengthen collaboration across our supply chain. As part of this, we hear directly from farmers within our ABC grower group, who share their experiences and the steps they’re taking to build resilience and improve environmental outcomes on their farms. We’re also joined by Andrew Wells, a cover cropping expert, who offers valuable insight into how these practices can benefit both soil health and long-term sustainability.
Across our sites, our own experts discuss the day-to-day actions we’re taking to make production more efficient and environmentally responsible. From energy use to process improvements, these small but impactful changes are helping us reduce our footprint while maintaining the high-quality British malt that brewers and distillers across North America rely on.
Beyond production, the video also explores our wider community work, including our support for initiatives like Equal Brewkery, as well as the ways we’re investing in our people through employee support and robust health and safety practices. We also celebrate our UK industry-first recycling program, Return-A-Bag, which works toward a zero-waste future within our industry for malt sack recycling.
