Mike started with Crisp Malt as a Technical Sales Manager, but is now the Brewing Sales Team Manager, based in the North of England. Mike is responsible for sales to Craft, Regional and Wholesale brewing customers in the UK and Ireland.
After completing an engineering qualification at college, Mike joined a local manufacturer as a lab technician where he learned the basics of quality management. In April 2002 he joined Thomas Hardy Burtonwood as a lab technician and started learning the brewing ropes. In the following years, Mike worked his way through the different departments and after passing the IBD Diploma in Brewing became the second brewer and later Brewing Manager. In 2015 Molson Coors purchased the brewery and he continued as brewing manager.
In 2017 he joined Love Lane Brewery in Liverpool overseeing the installation and commissioning of the brewery.
Mike has played an active role in the IBD Great Northern Section, joining the committee in 2010 and becoming Chairman in April 2017. After 2 years in the chair he continues as a committee member.
3/5th through his master brewer, Mike has a good scientific understanding but excels in problem solving and loves to get his hands dirty in the brewery.
