Rob Crane

Craft Sales Manager (Inside Sales)

Joining Crisp Malt a year ago has flown by for Rob, who currently serves as our Craft Sales Manager (Inside Sales). In this role, he collaborates with breweries across the UK and in select export markets, bringing a wealth of experience and creativity to the team.

Rob has a diverse background that began in the luxury publishing sector, eventually transitioning to the drinks industry. He gained invaluable experience working with Whisky Magazine and their associated events and awards, followed by a position as Regional Business Manager at McCormick Distilling, where he worked with distributors globally. This extensive journey has equipped him with a well-rounded understanding of the alcohol industry from commercial, marketing, PR, and brand owner perspectives. Now, he focuses on the essential ingredients that bring these beverages to life – malt!

What attracted Rob to Crisp Malt was its reputation as a local heritage brand with deep respect in the industry. The community aspect resonates with him, as he enjoys meeting people, sharing stories, and sometimes doing so over a pint or a dram!

While he has always been a fan of juicy, hazy keg beers, he has recently developed a taste for cask ale, particularly pale ales.

Outside of work, Rob has an interesting creative side – he used to sing in a noisy band, enjoys playing guitar (“although I’m not as good as I should be by now!”), and once appeared on a Channel Four pilot episode of “The Real History Show,” dressed as a 17th-century witch. (“Before you ask… No, I don’t know where the footage is!“)
