Svenskarna Kommer! (The Swedes Are Coming) – In case your Swedish is a bit rusty!

This year we’re celebrating our 150th birthday and have lots of exciting events planned throughout the year. Make sure you’re signed up to our mailing list to keep up to date.

To kick things off we’re very excited to be able to announce our Swedish Breweries takeover at the Brew LDN Festival, which takes place at the Old Truman Brewery from 27th to 29th February 2020.

Last year we showcased some fantastic Irish Crisp customers in the shape of Rye River, Hilden, Rascals, O Brother and Hillstown. This year we’re turning our attention to Sweden, land of PewDiePie, ABBA, meatballs and some amazing craft breweries.

We’re massively proud to be bringing two of the leading (Northern!) lights of the Swedish craft scene; FERMENTERARNA (The Fermenters) and APEX BREWING. They are flying their respective flags for experimental sour beers with a twist and all things IPA (DIPA, APA, NEIPA).

We caught up with the founders to tell you a bit more about the breweries. Don’t forget to follow them on social media and get your tickets for Brew LDN for the chance to try a whole host of beers from our Swedish guests.

Apex Brewing Co

Hi, we’re Daniel Gacic, founder and head brewer and Arvid Saltin, brewer from Apex Brewing Company. We started out in 2017 and are based in Nora, Sweden.

We focus on hoppy IPAs, DIPAs and APAs. Consumers can expect aromatic, hazy and super hoppy IPAs with little – or no bitterness but with full-on tropical flavours.

We’re excited to come to the UK as it’s an interesting new market for us and it will be great to serve, display and talk about our beers face to face with new customers/drinkers.

We use Crisp malt exclusively and our base malt since day one has been Extra Pale Maris Otter. It has just the right amount of malty fullness, sweetness and biscuit character – the perfect foundation for our extremely hop saturated beers.

Fermenterarna

We are Fermenterarna (The Fermenters); Niclas Aronson and Anna Claesson, Founders and Brewers (basically we do everything!).

We started up in 2017 in Strömstad, Sweden. We focus on Sour Beers but also on hoppy IPAs, DIPAs and APAs. Consumers can expect super fruity and experimental sour beers with a twist.

We can’t wait for Brew LDN so we can serve beer to the UK market and talk to all customers and speak the love for all things sour!

We’re big fans of Crisp wheat malt because it’s the most used malt in the brewery, a workhorse that never disappoints and always behaves the way we want to.
